Simply print out the labels onto an A4 label from any quality stationery supplier, overprint or write your name or a message to your guest onto the label and apply to the jar.  You can finish off with a stunning fabric covered lid as a great personalised gift to lift any wedding table.  You could even print the names of each guest on here and use the jam jars as each guest’s own placecard.  The options are endless,  so get creative and enjoy!

Guest Blogger- Design Merchants

As part of the Wedding Upmarket we have been having great fun creating different DIY projects as well as test-driving some that we found on the net. One that we absolutely loved was the twine chandelier featured on the Ruffled blog http://ruffledblog.com/diy-string-wedding-chandelier.

We were very excited about making the chandeliers, or pendants as I like to call them, to use with one of the themed tables for the Wedding Upmarket. As I do not always read instructions that thoroughly however my first try was not entirely successful. Therefore I have managed to test-drive a few different ways of making them and have a few extra tips to add.

The original ‘recipe’ for the glue needed was a mixture of cornstarch, water and glue. I couldn’t find cornstarch so used corn flour thinking it was the same thing and I mixed it with Clag glue. Well the jury is still out but I don’t think they are the same and I also think Aquadere glue may have worked better. I also kept on running out of the mixture so had to go back and mix up other batches which was messy and slowed down the process.

Initially, the first trial looked like it was working. As I had chosen wool however the glue mixture also stuck to the wispy bits of the wool. As it dried, the results did not look very impressive and I couldn’t get all the extra glue crystals to come off the edges. From a distance they looked great but not on closer inspection.

At this stage I thought they might still work for the Wedding Upmarket photo-shoot that I was styling, but here is the big tip: don’t leave them in a garbage bag in your car overnight. They were a crumpled mess when I looked in the morning. Therefore it may not have been entirely the corn flour’s fault as they were fairly firm before that.

This template can be designed with a great graphic or photo on the front, and even the name of the bride and groom that you can print from your home computer.  You can use the template to cover with fabric or vintage wallpaper or even use the coffee cups as placecards, printing the name of each guest on the design.  Why not even fill them with cookies, chocolates or other sweet delights for your guests.
