Petra Vanessie first started designing in 2010 with an aim to bring back the elegance of women’s dressing from various popular and classical eras that compliment the ‘real’ womanly figure and curves. Through her designs, Petra hopes to give every woman that extraordinary feeling of confidence and beauty when heads turn in appreciation, when compliments are received, when a second admiring glance is made as you wear your exclusive Petra Vanessie dress. You will find Petra Vanessie at the next Perth Upmarket, or visit her website at www.petravanessie.com

Guest blog post from Lisa Walsh- The Market Mill
Reading the very inspiring and thought provoking article, by Malcom Gladwell, dispelling the notion that creative genius is only for the young – it exposes a heartening tale about following your dreams and discovering that creative brilliance can strike at any age.
Sweet music to my ears, so many parts to Ben’s story resonate with me, so I thought I would jot them down in point for a quick (and hopefully, meaningful) review.
1. Creativity can be just as much about discipline and routine as it is about creative genius.
2. Dedication, perseverance and continued learning are vital personal characteristics.
3. Well respected, lucrative and seemingly “coveted” careers can leave you empty if you have a hidden passion or dream waiting to be explored.
4. Creativity is not predetermined by age. It can be cultivated and bloom at any age – given the opportunity.
5. “Overnight success” is a description that should be stricken from a creative’s vocabulary. Rarely is a creative discovered over night and it can take many tireless years for a trendy journalist to discover and describe them as such.
6. In following your dreams and passions, love ones that support you (both emotionally & financially) and who believe in you whole-heartedly, are vital.
These gems from Ben Fountain’s journey, whether we like it or not, may be the insights we are yearning for to ensure our own creative journey is a success.
